Through our practice, we will use & rely on the guidance of music, the creative freedom of art-image-making, gentle therapy to delve deep into the ocean of our identity, and the walls we will face along the way as our waters are getting calm and strong. VALENTYN KOROTKEVYCH

Director - Writer - Producer

Valentyn Edward Korotkevych. Born Severodonetsk, small city of eastern Ukraine.

Being an only child in the unformed family, he was raised by a single mother - lawyer with a keen ear for music.

In the midst of war zone between Russian & Ukraine (2013), he finished high-school at 17 and was forced to claim refuge abroad, which led him to Canada - Toronto (2014), where he studied Computer Engineering for a year before quitting and slowly revealing his passion for arts.

First credits of his writing - directorial work include a collaboration with a close friend, Vanessa Jackson, that brought him small praise of recognition withing the local community. Following up, he wrote, directed & acted in his second directorial - "Paradise. Death. Mars" (2018) which was most recently accepted into a festival in Queens, NY. Latest work includes directing, writing & producing "Silent" (2019), a film based on a homeless African-American boy, who glimpses to see his potential future as a Jazz musician, only to be crushed to discover that the vision was only a dream of his. In 2019 Valentyn relocated to the west coast of Canada - Vancouver to con't pursuing his acting career, along with finishing his latest writing collaboration on the suburban drama-mystery screenplay - "Awake" (Oaxaca Global Script Challenge 2019).

Statement:

As it goes, my one and only personal concern is to stay inspired in hopes to leave a mark that will spark the spiral nudge of improvement. To recognize & address subjects of natural life-flow. Those that are floating in tsunami of modern flooding climate. Shining the light on dark street corners. Telling stories that worth being told. To audience who's asking for awakening challenge. Remaining obstacle we are left to cope with is. The overwhelming fear of unknown upon us.
